Oil Change Basics

The type of oil your car needs and how often it should be changed varies depending on manufacturer recommendations, driving conditions, vehicle age and other factors. Refer to your owner’s manual for oil type and change frequency. While most standard vehicles use conventional oil, many high-performance and high-tech engines require synthetic oil. In most cases, you should change conventional engine oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles driven, while full synthetic oil may allow you to drive as many as 15,000 miles between oil changes.

Warning Signs

Most modern vehicles have a warning system that indicates when your oil needs changing. Some makes and models are programmed to turn on the warning 3,000 or 5,000 or 7,500 miles after your last oil change, or if your engine is low on oil. I thought there was something seriously wrong with my car. I've heard a dead battery before and it always made a clicking sound. There was no sound so I thought it's not the battery and I prepared for a for a steep bill. Well, it was the battery. Instead of doing or saying something to make the bill higher they just put in a new battery and it works fine now. It was towed in late in the afternoon and ready the next morning. This is where I'll be taking my car from now on.

A great experience with the shop. From start to finish very communicative. They were upfront with what to expect and had competitive pricing . The wait time was reasonable with one delay for parts delivery, it took them about a week to get the van up and running right after replacing fuel filter and some lines. I will be back with my vehicles every time I need work. Garages like this only happen in Mayberry RFD so give them a chance you won’t walk away dissatisfied.
